Everton financial fair play
Everton have been referred to an independent commission by the Premier League over an alleged breach of financial fair play rules.

A points deduction will almost certainly relegate them.

Fingers crossed they get a points deduction.

Re: Everton financial fair play
Well if they do stay up. Could be a major headache for the Premier League.?

Re: Everton financial fair play
Relates to the 2021/22 season, when they stayed up by 4 points.

Should any points deduction be applied retrospectively to that season (when they got the benefit of the over spending) or to this season?

Re: Everton financial fair play
You can’t tell if they’ve broken any rules until they publish accounts.
This will always be after the season when the offence is committed so it will never be a ‘live’ punishment.

There’s a very real possibility of a points deduction this season.

Re: Everton financial fair play
I cant see them getting points deducted. I hope they do though!

Be lovely but we can’t pin our hopes on it. I’d imagine it’ll be lenient.

Re: Everton financial fair play
Everton are low profile enough for the Premier League to take a stand. They'd never take on one of the big clubs so Everton could be used as a deterrent to future dodgy dealings.

Re: Everton financial fair play
Just need a points deduction for Man City and hopefully one other club? ;-)

Bus top parade and more credit in the bank for Moyesiah keeping us up.

“All hail Moyesiah and his Moyesball tactics!” The tactics of a winner because that’s what he does

No way I'm a million years they get a points deduction. Soon as they do it once, it opens up far too many cans of worms on so many different levels.

Re: Everton financial fair play
If we go down and they stay up we can just sue them.

They have the most cancerous fans in the league by a mile. They all scream handball every 60 seconds

Good to see that LAMPS is carrying on the family tradition of leaving a financial mess wherever he goes

SurfaceAgentX2Zero 10:32 Sat Mar 25
Re: Everton financial fair play
LAMPS arrived at Everton on the last day of the January transfer window, so he wasn't actually there when the alleged offences took place.

He's still a fat, club-killing cunt, though.

Re: Everton financial fair play
Anybody know what the exact alleged breach is?

I have no idea, btw. But unless it’s a major, purposeful deception - as has been alleged at Man City - then my hunch would be Everton will get away with any minor breach. They’ll present it as all part of the extra challenge of managing a football club in the Covid-era, when revenues fell off a cliff then shot back up, etc.

A good lawyer will use Covid as the cover for any wankstains.

LJC 10:54 Sat Mar 25
Re: Everton financial fair play
I only know very minimal but covid seems to be the issue rather than the cover.

southbankbornnbred 11:00 Sat Mar 25
Re: Everton financial fair play
Yeah, but when it goes to lawyers it could just as easily become the cover.

Everton: “Unprecedented, once in a century disruption to club finances, had to secure succession of short-term loans with variable interest rates, uncertainty about player bonuses, loss of income, financial uncertainty, ship steadying now…yadda yadda yadda.”

Premier League [holding back crocodile tears]: “Totally understand. Isn’t it so hard being mega rich football? We are all the best ever. Let’s go and make some more money…”
